July 7, 2008 - Xindian River, west of Taipei, close to sunset. Missing Summer days in the wet, wet drear of Winter. It's been raining for just several days, definitely not as bad as it has been in previous years, when sometimes it rained for two weeks straight, more or less.

My shoes are supposed to be waterproof. They very prominently claim to be "waterproof", but every time it rains, my feet get wet, so I figured maybe they're waterproof from the inside, so once water gets inside, it can't get out. But recently I looked at the sole of my right shoe and there's a hole in the sole. A small rectangular piece of the rubber sole fell out, so when I walk in the rain, the spongy insole just sucks up water. You know, the man who had no feet doesn't have problems like this.

I think this is the reverse view of the top lomo. I thought they may have been taken a few steps away, but it looks like I might have just turned around and shot the warm evening Summer light. Mmm, Summer.

Sometimes these dark, cold, rainy nights with the constant patter of rain in the alley outside make it feel like Winter will never end. Mmm, patter.

lol...it's hard to keep up with korean pop music, they're all one hit wonders (or, one album wonders i guess). do you know what they're saying? it's too fast for me to even get a word out of that!!

i kinda miss the rain. altho i don't want to live anywhere where it rains more than one day at a time. :) and i actually miss fog. we don't get much fog out here (and on the rare occasion we do, it's like wtf?).

I don't have the slightest idea what they're saying, except when they say stuff in English. I have, though, grown an appreciation for the sound of the Korean language. A friend of mine made a mix of Korean pop music and this was on it and was one of the first that caught on.

There was another song on her mix that sounded like a rip-off of Britney Spears' "Do Something", but I didn't want to say, as if suggesting anything Koreans do they must have copied from America. I finally did mention it and she said, "Oh yea, she was sued by Britney's lawyers". A cease and desist letter, I presume. Hahaha!

I wonder what happened to Sophie from BAL, I miss that girl.

i used to have a ton of korean music, and some really good stuff too. i don't even know where my CDs are anymore (somewhere in the basement), since we have our rhapsody subscription. i haven't tried looking for korean music on it yet. maybe i should! and koreans copy a ton of american music, i'm surprised they all don't get sued! lol...

oh yeah...sophie, i remember her. i know you're not into online social networking (ha!) but i bet you might be able to find her on facebook! remember andy le? he found me (i think thru liz, don't know how they found each other tho)! so weird! i don't remember her last name...i could try to see if she's on there! :)

Sophie? I doubt it. Does she even know what the Internet is? Anyway, her last name is Regimbal, since her husband is of French stock.

For the life of me I can't put a face on Andy Le. I still touch base with Liz on flickr.
